2nd Term Book Report Information

You will use the same website as we did before: http://www.bighugelabs.com/deck.php

You will be making a Trading Card...

Choose "CENTER" where you want your picture to be. You will need to find a picture that represents your book and use that for your image. If you don't remember how to upload it, ask someone.

Choose a "COLOR" for your card.
Title: is your Title to your book
Subtitle: Author of your book

Description is where the rest of your information is going to go.
You need to include the following information:
  • Main Characters
  • Target Audience (who should read your book (grade level and type of people))
  • Genre of your book (fantasy, biography, sci fi, etc.)
  • Brief overview of your book without giving your plot away
  • Catchy phrase to get people hooked on wanting to read your book
  • Your name needs to be at the bottom
Before you actually print your card:
  • Preview and review
  • Print it as big as the sheet of paper
  • Print in color if you would like (library $.25 or do at home)
  • Remember you can't save it once you get started so make sure you have plenty of time to complete it
  • Save to your H drive
  • Bring me your Trading Card or e-mail it to me...
Good luck and post a comment when you get finished!

Sending Cards to the Military

http://www.letssaythanks.com/SendCard.asp

On Monday December 14 and Tuesday December 15, students were given the opportunity to write Christmas cards out to military persons who were injured in the war. We are hoping to send about 100 cards from our team. I also have another opportunity for everyone and it is to click on the link above and choose a card to send via the internet. When you do actually send a card, post a comment and let me know you did one and I will give you 5 extra credit points for Inspire!

Thanks for showing someone you care enough to send a card.

Winding down 2000

Winter is here and so is the end of 2009...

Hoops for Heart deadline is Wednesday Dec. 16. In order to participate on Friday the 18th students must get pledges for at least $25. They then will get to get out of class and participate in pizza luncheon, basketball and a movie.

We will be finishing up our Chemistry unit in Science before Winter Break begins and our test is going to be on Friday December 18th. Ask your kids about all the experiments we did during this unit...it was pretty fun!

Both math classes have some quizzes this week, please check out www.galmish.com. We hope the website has been useful for everyone and let us know if there is other information you would like on there.

Thank you to all the parents who donated the boxes of Christmas cards, we really appreciate it. They will be sent out to Washington this week.
